Code of Ethics and Ethical Channel of MARVIC

The Code of Ethics and Conduct of AGRICOLA MARVIC, S.L.U. aims to establish the principles that guide our daily actions, both in the offices and on the farms. This code seeks to promote a respectful, transparent, and responsible working environment, with the commitment to maintaining the highest ethical, labor, and environmental standards.

1. Fundamental Ethical Principles

1.1 Integrity

Honesty: All employees must act with honesty and transparency in all interactions, both with colleagues, suppliers, and customers. No member of the company should engage in deception or fraud in their daily activities.

Regulatory compliance: All legal and regulatory requirements must be complied with regarding labor, safety, health, the environment, fair trade, and other relevant aspects.

1.2 Respect and Fair Treatment

Diversity and equity: The company promotes an inclusive work environment, free from discrimination of any kind (gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc.). All employees must be treated with dignity and respect.

Equal opportunities: All employees must have equal access to opportunities for professional development, training, and promotion within the company, regardless of their position or seniority.

1.3 Environmental Responsibility

Sustainability: All processes and activities must be aligned with sustainability principles. The company is committed to minimizing its environmental impact by implementing responsible agricultural practices, promoting recycling, and using resources efficiently.

Biodiversity protection: The company must promote agricultural practices that preserve biodiversity, prevent soil erosion, and maintain ecological balance on the farms.

3. Rules of Conduct on the Farms

3.1 Workplace Safety

Prevention of occupational risks: Employees must strictly follow the safety protocols established on the farms, such as the use of personal protective equipment (gloves, boots, etc.) and safety measures when working with heavy machinery, chemicals, and on uneven terrain.

Continuous training: The company will provide ongoing training on workplace safety and the proper handling of machinery and chemical products.

3.2 Responsible Use of Natural Resources

Water and soil conservation: Employees must follow sustainable agricultural practices, such as efficient water use, the implementation of efficient irrigation techniques, and crop rotation to maintain soil health.

Environmental protection: Any use of pesticides or fertilizers must follow the established guidelines to minimize environmental impact. In addition, waste must be properly managed, following recycling practices and waste reduction measures. 

3.3 Good Agricultural Practices

Product quality: All agricultural products must comply with the quality standards established by the company and local regulations. Employees must ensure that the final product is safe for consumption.

3.4 Relations with Contractors and Suppliers

Ethics and transparency in business relationships: The company is committed to selecting its suppliers and contractors based on criteria of fairness, transparency, and compliance with ethical standards.

– Any form of bribery or corruption in relationships with suppliers must be avoided, ensuring fair and equitable treatment.

4. Management of Reports and Violations of the Code

4.1 Reporting Channels

– Confidential and secure channels will be established so that employees can report violations of the code of ethics without fear of retaliation. Reports may be made anonymously and will be treated seriously.

4.2 Consequences of Violations

Violations of the Code of Ethics and Conduct may result in disciplinary measures, ranging from a warning to the termination of the employment contract, depending on the severity of the offense.

5. Commitment and Acceptance of the Code

– All employees, from senior management to operational staff, must sign and commit to complying with the terms of the Code of Ethics and Conduct. This commitment must be reviewed periodically and updated to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of the policies.

Ethics Channel and Internal Information System of MARVIC

Agrícola MARVIC SLU, in compliance with EU Directive 2019/1937 and Law 2/2023, makes available to any person its Internal Information System, also known as the Ethics Channel or Whistleblowing Channel.

This channel allows the secure, confidential and protected communication of any information related to regulatory breaches, irregular conduct, violations of the Code of Ethics, or breaches of the law.

Whether the reporting person is part of the company or external to it (suppliers, collaborators, customers, transporters, etc.), this channel allows the submission of evidence or well-founded knowledge of conduct contrary to the law, applicable sector regulations, or MARVIC’s internal policies.

The use of this channel is voluntary, and all communications must be made in good faith.
Submitting false, manipulated, or illegally obtained information is not permitted. Law 2/2023 considers knowingly communicating false information a very serious offence (arts. 63.1.f and 65.1.a), which may lead to financial penalties for individuals acting in this way.

This channel should not be used for:

  • complaints about products or services,

  • commercial issues,

  • general inquiries,

  • sending CVs,

  • communications unrelated to possible ethical or legal violations.

Such communications will not be handled through this channel.

Reports may be anonymous or identified, and ethical inquiries may also be submitted when there are doubts about the correctness of a particular conduct.

All communications received will be reviewed diligently, impartially and confidentially by MARVIC’s Compliance Committee, ensuring the absence of retaliation and the full protection of the reporting person’s rights.

After submitting a report, the system will generate a 12-digit tracking code.
It is essential to keep this code, as it will allow you to check the status of the report at any time through the form.
